KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

As your computer skills grow you begin to understand a fundamental of Windows – you can carry out the same task two or three different ways. For example, most users shut their computer down by clicking on Start – Shut Down. However your computer can also be customized to shut down by pushing the power button or closing the lid if you are on a laptop.

Functions such as copy and paste can be accomplished by using the mouse or by a combination of keys on the keyboard. These keystrokes are called shortcuts, and work with most programs running on Windows.

  • CTRL+C: Copy
  • CTRL+X: Cut
  • CTRL+V: Paste
  • CTRL+Z: Undo
  • CTRL+B: Bold
  • CTRL+U: Underline
